Julian Dicks has confirmed he plays no part in the defensive coaching, but is responsible for shooting & crossing.

And we wonder why we are 14th in the league!

Agree sir Alf the rumour mill and the pikey son will be churning out stories associating us with just about anyone and everyone. It's already starting. Not falling into that trap again, will take stock on deadline day.

Shows passion or did once and was a populist appointment by Bilic and the 2Bobs.

All gimmicks and "smoke and mirrors" at Club London these days :-( Expect Beckham and Rooney to be mentioned as signing (ones for the future), "interest" in Messi and Ronaldo culminating in the late recruitment of Jonathan Walters who is available on a Bosman.

2Bob owners will continue to over promise and under deliver either side of season ticket deadline. Its what they have always done at Brum and here is no different.

Bilic will start the season in charge and we will be in the lower reaches especially as our home games are delayed at the start of next season.

More doom and gloom which is what I wallow in ;-)

To be honest we have been playing like a team coached by a pensioner all season.
We should be bouncing off the walls in the tunnel and dressing room instead we wander on the pitch like dad's army, only we do fucking panic every time the opposition have the ball.
That said Dicksie isent exactly comming over like a good team player, with his don't blame me attitude

So one of the best defenders we have had in recent times but the very WORST trainer and freely admitted he didn't see the point of training and put no effort into it is in charge of motivating the players into high intensity training with special emphasis on crossing and shooting?

Our fitness coach is 70 years old. I thought this was a joke until I realised it was true.

And we wonder why our team look stumble around like the Stratford branch of Blind Asthmatics Anonymous?

I'm with you Huffers. As far anybody knows Dicks does exactly what he is asked to do and I never see anybody criticise other member of the coaching staff. If there is something wrong with the coaching then Bilic has to carry the can for that not a junior member of his staff.

As things aren't going well and people think Bilic is making mistakes I think people ARE questioning the other staff as well.
These days the whole staff group seems to come and go with the manager so I think the worry is that they are all yes-men behind their PATRON
With Dicks people are just curious as to what he actually does?
They also think the team aren't fit enough so are doubtful about a 70 yo long jumper looking after that.
With the others they wonder whether any are telling Bilic to stop making the selection and positional moves over and over.

The ideal coaching set up at least would have someone confident enough to be a bit of a Devils Advocate with different ideas but I suspect that doesn't happen.
Though all managers would probably say they listen to different opinions.

If he's a minder employed to get in the face of the media before the media get into the faces of our players, then fine, just tell it like it is.

We're a fucking East London club so that's just the type of thing people who look down at their noses at the area will expect to be able to tut-tut about at dinner parties.

you've missed my point. Julian does everything he is asked to do. He is paid well but you have to be in this business. If you paid someone £1000 a week instead then there is a high risk of leaks to the media etc to top up their salary. The manager also needs someone he can trust, and he chose Julian. Nobody is questioning the likes of Terzic.

You can't live out on past glories (in today's connected world, at least).

If you don't deliver instant value then you're as good as on the midden and only worthy of charity or benefits.

Clearly something or someone in the whole coaching process is not delivering (value).

All clubs have staff who are there to assist with the training set up and lay balls off for shooting practice etc. I cannot believe that fans are turning on one of the biggest cult heroes of recent times. Actually, I can.

All I know is for sure is he's earning a good wedge for basically doing fuck all apart from being Julian.
Fair play to him..but taking the piss out of the likes of me who works all hrs in a tough job..for likely a drop in the ocean to his salary.
